Squaw Peak And A Few Run-Ins With The Law.

Tyler, also known as Fernando Martinez or Seth's Roommate, is back in town from his many adventures in S. America and we've hit a few trails in the past couple of days. Squaw Peak, up Rock Canyon in Provo, UT, went down recently. It being my first foray, up a some what high elevation in the winter, was a pretty solid learning experience and a good time once we reached the top. This was my first time using snowshoes. It was a cool feeling being able to "walk on water" so to speak.

A few days latter saw Tyler and I on a journey into an unknown territory for the both of us. The mission was a quick attack on the summit of Twins Peak, in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The task we eventually found out would be more daunting then the plan on paper entailed. Avalanche chutes, Criss-crossing trails, and sunburns left us defeated and retreating back to the safety of Tyler's Land Rover. While are pride was definitely hurt, it was an opportunity to learn a lot about navigating in the snow.

At this point you are probably wondering what the law has to do with two baller adventures into the wilderness. A long story short, after returning to the mighty Land Rover, we found the tires of the mighty beast spinning freely in the snow. After many failed attempts to free the caged animal we were forced to contact the only option left to us... local law enforcement. A friendly officer ended up helping us and we found ourselves on our way down the canyon. Just when I thought the days adventures were over I was in a parking lot waiting once again for the local law enforcement to decide my fate, this time to judge the verdict on an accident that occurred just a few minutes prior. Let us just leave it at it didn't work out in my favor.
